Connect your WhatsApp number through Meta.

Open Channels in the Nova portal and follow the Meta connection flow for your WhatsApp Business account. Nova receives messages and replies on that number, with read receipts and typing indicators.

Instagram

Answer in the Instagram DM they already sent.

Connect your professional Instagram account from Channels in the Nova portal and approve the Meta permissions. Nova answers incoming DMs using your workspace’s instructions and tools. Nova refreshes the connection tokens automatically.

The order tool you connect for WhatsApp can answer an Instagram DM, too.

Web widget

Copy, paste, done.
Your website answers back.

Add your website’s domain in the portal, then copy your embed snippet before the closing body tag. Nova streams replies and remembers the visitor across page loads in the same browser.

The widget’s shadow DOM keeps its styles separate from your site. Set its appearance in the portal.

Replace YOUR_WIDGET_KEY with your workspace’s public key. The portal gives you this exact tag with your key already filled in.

Signed-in customers

Know which customer is chatting.

When a customer is signed in on your site, pass their id to the widget with a signature only your server can make. Nova then knows who it is talking to, keeps their history across devices, and your MCP tools can look up that customer’s own orders.

Create the identity secret on the Install page in the portal. On your server, sign the customer id as text with HMAC-SHA256 and that secret, and pass the hex result as userHash. Nova ignores an id without a valid signature.

Set kockatoosSettings before the widget script, or call kockatoosChat.identify() once it loads, and call logout() when the customer signs out. A customer access token is optional and is only ever sent to your MCP server. Never print one into HTML that a cache might serve to other visitors.

Flutter SDK

Your Flutter app gets the same Nova agent.

Add kockatoos_nova_ai_chatbot from the SDK repository. Initialize Nova in main(), then place NovaFloatingButton() in your Scaffold. The package supports Flutter mobile and Flutter web.

Register your mobile app identifiers or web domain in the portal. Replace YOUR_API_KEY with your workspace’s public key.

Your tools (MCP)

Let Nova look things up in your own systems.

Nova calls your systems through an MCP server, short for Model Context Protocol, an open standard for giving AI agents tools. Your developer builds or reuses a server that exposes selected actions, such as looking up an order, checking stock or finding a booking.

Register the server’s URL and credentials under MCP servers in the Nova portal. Nova lists its tools and calls them during any conversation, on every channel. Your server decides which records each tool can return.

WhatsApp via Wati

Keep Wati. Give Nova a seat in the inbox.

Enter your Wati API endpoint in the Nova portal. Then exchange two things: paste Nova’s webhook URL into a Wati Custom AI Agent, and paste that agent’s access token back into Nova. No Meta app setup of your own.

Assign chats to Nova in Wati. When you assign a chat to a human teammate, Nova steps aside.
